VESTA
Vesta
began her career as a hair designer in Atlanta, GA in
1986. Upon graduating with Pivot Point education, she
continued to perfect her cut and color techniques with
Scott Cole, Vidal Sasson. Vesta has interned with several
well-known names in the industry and has attended many
cut and color seminars across the country. She has worked
in salons from Atlanta, GA to Beverly Hills with Horst's
Aveda concepts, as well as crafting special effects
hair and makeup on films and in theatre from Canada
to Oregon.
Vesta’s
interest in the health aspects of the beauty industry
peaked after she went back to college in 1999 and worked
in the medical field for 6 years. After her disappointment
in the lack of preventative health in the healthcare
industry, she began to investigate U.S. laws governing
toxic chemicals in our everyday lives. To her dismay,
she also found this lack of government oversight in
the beauty care industry and began her mission to help
educate both clients and stylists while returning to
the creativity and joy she finds through hair design
and working with her clients.
When
Vesta is not behind the chair or helping the environmental
organizations of Alaska, she enjoys getting fresh air
outside in Homer, Alaska. Her dog Shiloh, is always
by her side and supports her endeavors 100%, especially
if food is involved.
